Placing Baby in the Carrier - used for all carry options

Lay carrier flat on a stable surface, place baby’s head face up in the hood and center baby’s body in the carrier. Grab on to both straps and lift baby into a cross-body or shoulder carry.

-

Cross-body Carry

Before placing baby in the carrier, lengthen the strap that will be closest to your body by an inch or two. This adjustment will level the carrier so baby lays flat. Grab both straps near head with one hand and both straps near feet with the other hand and lift over one shoulder and then your head so babies face is visible. Place strap pad around the strap that rests on your neck for added comfort. Place the other strap near your shoulder to distribute the weight for a more comfortable carry.

-

Shoulder Carry

After placing baby in carrier, secure both straps with the strap pad for extra stability and lift baby on to one shoulder with head in front so face is visible.

-

Removing Baby from Carrier

Using both hands, grab the straps and lay carrier on stable flat surface and remove strap pad, if used, to separate the straps. Lift baby out of carrier with two hands.

-

Nursing with Carrier

From the cross-body carry position, lengthen strap closest to body, if necessary, to rotate baby into a feeding position. After feeding, rotate baby back into a face-up, lay flat position and shorten the strap closest to body, if needed.

-

Stroller

After lowering baby into stroller, separate straps and buckle baby in as normal. Tuck straps behind the carrier. Tuck hood slightly behind baby’s head.

Before lifting from stroller replace hood over baby’s head and unbuckle. Grab both straps and lift into desired carry position.

-

Baby Handoff

Hold both straps at the head with one hand and both straps at the foot with the other hand for a level handoff.

-

Airplane

Cross-body carry with an elevated head worked best. Position baby so head is slightly higher than the feet and baby’s head is resting against your chest and baby’s body is resting against your torso.
